I know I haven't done one of these for Reed in a very long time but I've still been keeping track when he throws a zinger out there and have collected enough it's time to share!
Last year leading up to Grandpa's Birthday Reed told me "this is a very special Birthday for him." When I asked why he informed me "because he's so old."
Kieran came crying to me that Reed had called him a party pooper. I told Reed that those aren't kind words to which he responded that "Kieran had said he was going to poop on my head and I thought that's what a party pooper does!"
K was really upset that Reed had tattled on him to which Reed replied "I'm not here to be your best friend, I'm here to be your brother."
On the drive to school one morning it was super sunny, yet sprinkling, and on top of that we spotted a rainbow. Reed said "I'm glad I'm not the weather helper (at school) today, I have no idea what the answer would be!"
Reed - "Does anyone even live in that house anymore?"
Me - "Yes, they do, why do you ask?"
Reed - "Because they haven't changed their flags since New Years and that means they've missed a lot of holidays." - This is at Easter
Reed sneezed a couple times in a row, took a deep breath, and then asked "can sneezes ever feel good?"
Reed has always said he doesn't want to move away for college. He learned that when I had been in college I had lived with my friends Clint and Mason (who he knows and loves). He quickly said "wait, you get to live in a house by yourself with your friends when you are in college?" Needless to say he wants to move away for college now.
I found Reed in his room building some sort of lego/hotwheel/superhero contraption when I asked what he was building he quickly retorted "more than you think I am!"
After attending a couple of Christmas events (all in the evening) Reed commented on a drive home "I bet Santa is nocturnal - all the events we see him at are at night."
Reed was trying to figure out where countries/continents were and asked what's below the D-quator again? (instead of the Equator)
When Reed was suffering from the horrible stomach bug this spring he was in the bathroom after a particularly bad vomit session. Once he got done throwing up he looked up at me and said "I don't think I'm going to make it, I'm trying my hardest to live but I just don't know."

June 2019 Happenings
June marked the end of the school year and the beginning of summer. We embraced the transition and fit in a lot. The beginning of the month was Jon's cousin Bryan's birthday. In his honor I helped Auntie P setup a memorial scholarship and the family came together to put on a wine tasting fundraiser. It was a hard night but such a nice tribute to Bryan and the next day we got together again for a mini family reunion.
We met up with Amanda, Viv, and Cleo for a zoo date during their last week of maternity leave. There is a special dinosaur exhibit at the zoo and the boys absolutely loved it!!!
Reed's last week of school was a bit emotional for him (and me). It was mine and Kieran's last week having a day together. Ironically we ended up spending it at work helping get ready for a special visitor but we managed to get lunch together one last time. I will truly miss our lunch dates and will cherish these last two years I've had a day home each week with him. Reed was so sad to say goodbye to his teacher, principal, and classmates. It was a phenomenal year for him and definitely one we wish would continue on forever!
As soon as school was over I packed up the boys and met Grandma and G-Momma at the coast to celebrate their Birthdays. We had such a fun time playing games, walking the pier, going on the Bob Jones Trail, playing at the beach, having yummy meals, and were sad we couldn't stay longer.
Reed was in music class all year and Kieran started a class in the Spring. K's class has a bunch of his friends in it and he really loved class, practice, and learned a lot in a short time. They had an end of the year performance that the boys both played very well in and had to introduce themselves with a microphone. For some reason as Reed spoke he got louder and louder until everyone was chuckling.
The following weekend Lyla had her dance performance. The boys loved watching the entire recital and spotted lots of their friends up on stage. They also were very excited to give Lyla flowers after her big show.
After the dance recital we went to C and Tio's for a Father's Day celebration. Most of the night was spent with Tio, Jon, and Pop Pop launching the kids around the pool.
Father's Day was pretty quiet. The kids made Jon some special gifts and we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's new house to help them get settled in. Unfortunately I failed to take a single picture while we were there!
The boys both really wanted to do Splashball (basically waterpolo for little kids) and they were able to play on the same team so a couple times a week they've been practicing. Jeffrey is also on the team which is fun for them. Reed claims he loves splashball and Kieran says he hates it despite having a great time each time he goes.
We also managed to make it to a few more Foxes soccer games despite the very late start time. Also, these are the faces I got when I told them all to smile for a picture.
We attended Ryan's 7th Birthday and the boys had a blast flying down the huge slide straight into the pool over and over again!!!

To finish out the month we went to Lyla's swim meet. She did so well and the boys had a blast cheering her on.
