November 2017 Happenings

Since it is already mid-December and Christmas is right around the corner I thought I should go through my November pictures and do a quick recap of some of the happenings I hadn't documented yet. Kieran is in a music class with Lyla, Bailey, Clara, and Tegan, (Emmett is an honorary member and sits so quietly through most classes). After class each week the kids run downstairs and pile on one of the downtown benches. They are so cute together and on Bailey's actual Birthday Laurie snapped a picture of the cuteness.

It was way past Tio's Birthday but we hadn't yet celebrated his or Kieran's Birthdays at Nonna and Pepe's so the next Sunday we were over they had a little ice cream bar for the Birthday Boys. Kieran was so excited to blow out another candle and continue his Birthday celebrating!

Kieran's preschool had a feast to celebrate Thanksgiving. The different classes said prayers for each other and they all shared a meal in the same room together. I was lucky and able to slip away from work for a little bit to help out and of course take a few pictures of some of our favorite kiddos.

Later in the week the preschool teachers planned a surprise baby shower for one of the other teachers. It was during the after school program on Friday which Reed isn't there for and Kieran usually leaves early from but both boys really wanted to go celebrate with Mrs. Hernandez so after I picked Reed up from school we joined in the celebration. Of course a shower thrown by preschool teachers means lots of fun kids games and cute crafts. Mrs. Hernandez was so surprised and moved by the party she tried to give a speech and just ended up crying for most of it. I love the love these teachers have for the kids.

To round out the month we finally got to celebrate Bailey's 3rd Birthday with a princess party. The boys weren't sure about the theme but were very excited to celebrate Bailey and somehow managed to play football with the Rodriguez boys in the middle of all of the princess stuff. Laurie was so sweet and made an entire batch of cupcakes that Reed could have. I told her I could bring something but she was insistent on trying her hand at making them and they turned out great!

Kieran Says Fall 2017 Edition

As I've stated many times Kieran is our little comedian. He is definitely the one to try to get out of trouble by telling a joke or the one to get an entire room's attention and put on a show. K has a few catch phrases currently - "isn't that amazing?!?!" "I don't like it, I LOVE it!" and he is constantly telling people what to say. "Say huh?" "say Avengers assemble" "say what are you doing?"

HMC is located across the street from Sunmaid Raisins. One day Kieran and I were stopping by the office and he saw the Sunmaid sign and said "that's not HMC, that's the best raisins."

Kieran was asking about a store in town and I told him it was called Baby Cakes and they sold ice cream. He replied "I think ice cream is better to eat than babies."

K lifting up his shirt. "Mom did you know I have boobs too?" Then pressing one of his nipples "but I press my buttons and they make me go . . . " he starts dancing around crazily.

Reed - Let's make a swim team

K- I want to play that game but I don't want to get wet.

I walked in to find the boys building with Hotwheels, Legos, and train tracks. When I asked what they were doing K informed me "we are making the most epic thing you can think of!"

I caught Kier looking at picture from Reed's first day of school and he told me "Reed and his teacher are a good look together."

I got this Text from Jon one night when we had taken Reed to soccer: I forgot to tell you about Kieran's cutest moment of all time. When we were going to soccer practice he teared up, told me he'll miss me and asked Reed for a high five before we left.  

With a tear streaming down his face K told me "Mom I have a drip on my face."

Before Kieran scored his first soccer goal for the season he had tried scoring in the correct goal a few times but the attempts were blocked. I was watching Reed's game, but according to Shannon he purposely kicked the ball into his own goal and then looked at the crowd and shrugged saying "I couldn't make a goal down there so I made one here!"

At Zach's First Birthday Party K ran up to Zach and said "Yay Zach you crossed the baby finish line!"

Anytime Kier hears the bells at the church his school is attached to he tells me "That's the Jesus bell."

Thanksgiving 2017

For Thanksgiving this year we did our usual party hopping starting at Uncle Mark and Aunt Penny's for lunch and games and then ending at Nonna and Pepe's for dinner and more games. The boys had really great behavior and were friendly and polite to everyone. The were bummed that Auntie M and Hunky Kevin were sick so that meant no Ben to play with but they still had fun doing puzzles, snacking, and talking to everyone. We even managed to get a few family shots outside thanks to Grandpa, Grandma, and Aunt Penny!

 

We arrived at Jon's parent's house in time to let the boys run around a bit outside with Lyla, Zach, and Maisie and then we attempted to sit down and have dinner. For some reason the kids table turned into a game of tug of war and left Maisie and Lyla wanting nothing to do with the boys. After dinner we had drinks (the Stoothoffs "Iced" Jon and Drew), pie, and played our annual game of boys vs. girls trivial pursuit. Reed was the official roller for the boys and did a great job. The ladies were victorious despite repeatedly being told by the guys how dumb our logic, answers, strategy, etc. were. We didn't get home until after 11:00pm and the boys were pooped the next day, but it was totally worth it because we all had a great time.
