A Weekend of Showers

On Saturday Reed got to attend his very first baby shower. It's pretty funny because I think Kieran's been to at least half a dozen, but now that he's in crazy climbing toddler mode, Reed is much easier to tote along. So while Kieran got to hang with Tio and Lyla, Reed was beyond thrilled that he got to help celebrate his "favorite girl" Allie and her soon to be born baby girl. He got to play with Nonna and Clara and was pretty into being the only boy too. He was also excited to eat the desserts I brought along for him and after having eaten some earlier decided to interrupt the present opening by asking the whole room "so what's the plan for that other brownie bite?" It was a great party and he really was on good behavior.

On Sunday Jon spent the day with the boys while I drove up and back to Auburn to celebrate another baby girl - my roommate from college, Molly, is expecting her third child, but first girl, next month. I was excited to spend a few hours with her friends and family, get a little time to catch up, and see how big her boys have gotten. Of course I failed to take any pictures but am so glad I made the time to attend!

Summer Catch-Up

This Summer has been so busy! Reed is in preschool 3 days a week and doing swim lessons 4 days a week. Sprinkle in some fun celebrations, some unfortunate illnesses, and it being super busy at work and there doesn't seem to be a ton of free time. Luckily we've managed to squeeze in some fun activities that I thought I would share.

Fourth of July . . . A Two Day Event

We got to celebrate the Fourth of July for two full days this year and it was a lot of fun. The boys and I went to Mommy and Me yoga on Friday morning with Shannon, Clara, Russell, and Bailey and then we went to the Parkinson's for swimming, pizza, fireworks, and dessert on Friday night. Kieran was in the pool for over an hour and then played with the other kids the rest of the night and Reed was in the pool for over two hours. We had a great time and other than trying to keep Kieran on the blanket before the fireworks started the boys were great. I loved snuggling up with them while they were nibbling on cookies and discussing the booms and colors up in the sky. The kids didn't get to bed until 10:30 (three hours passed regular bedtime) but it was well worth it and Reed even slept in a little bit on Saturday morning.

After such a big 3rd, we were hopeful for long naps on the 4th, unfortunately only Kieran got the memo and Reed failed to take a nap at all. We still went to C and Tio's and had a great time swimming, eating hamburgers, playing in bubbles, and hanging out but left at normal bedtime since at this age, two late nights in a row can get rough with the boys. The kids all did great playing together but Kieran was especially fond of Connor and loved accepting the hugs and kisses C-note is known for.
