Reed's First Baseball Game
We left it up to Reed if he wanted to play baseball this year or not. After saying for a month that he wasn't interested the day of sign-ups he changed his mind and decided he wanted to give it a try. We were super excited for about a week and then he decided he didn't want to play after all. We told him he needed to give it a try since he had signed-up. The first three practices were a bit rough - he just wouldn't focus on what his coaches were trying to tell him, he struggled with batting and catching, and he looked horribly awkward every time he threw the ball. His coaches are so patient and good with him and even though he improved over the two weeks of practice we weren't expecting much at his first game. Nonna and Pepe were able to make it to the game so Kieran was in heaven gopher hunting with Nonna. Reed ended up being the first up to bat for his team and really impressed us when he was able to hit off of the coach's pitch!!! They played three innings and he actually had a hit and scored in each, twice he hit off of the coach's pitch and once the tee. He wasn't quite sure what to do when it came to fielding the ball but he did manage to grab a ground ball once. He had a great throw in an attempt to get the runner out, unfortunately he aimed at the runner himself, not first base (oops!!!). It's been amazing to see his improvement over such a short period of time. They play eight games over four weeks so it is a quick season but so far he is loving it and we really hope that continues!

Great job Reed! I have one question. Redsox, what does Jon have to say about that?
