Celbrating Reed's Birthday with a Family Trip to Monterey

We made Reed the offer of either having a party with a bunch of his friends or going on a family trip to celebrate his Birthday. He really didn't hesitate and immediately said he wanted to take a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Jon and I were ecstatic over the idea of no party and spending time just the four of us. We left Saturday afternoon after the boys' soccer games and a stop at another birthday party and got to town just in time to walk to a cute pizza place where Reed could eat. Then we hit up the arcade across the street from our hotel. We had a ton of fun going through the mirror maze and laser challenge and the arcade games were also a huge hit. Sunday morning Reed was up super early, so excited with anticipation. Since we were all sharing a room I made him sit in the bathroom reading for 45 minutes while the other two got a little more sleep. We spent the morning and most of the afternoon at the aquarium and the boys had a ton of fun checking out all of the sea life and playing the interactive games. It really was a great way to celebrate Reed turning 7!!!
