Who Does Kieran Look Like?

I did a similar post for Reed a little over two years ago. Using the same pictures of myself and Jon and some snapshots we've taken of Kieran over the last few months I thought it would be fun to recreate and see the similarities (if any) between K and his Mom and Dad. You can also follow the link above to see Reed at this age and in these same poses.

Maternity/Family Photo Shoot

Tio's brother Hank is a professional photographer and has told us before he would take pictures for us if we wanted. We finally took him up on his offer when he was in town last weekend. We are not a big "posed photo" family but I think since Jon and I know Hank and Reed had been around him the night before it really helped us loosen up, have fun with the photo shoot, and get some great pictures. I didn't know if I was being silly requesting to take family pictures just 10 days before our family got a new addition, but I'm so glad we did. Hank was able to capture some really great moments between the three of us and a few shots that tastefully show off my belly. All of the photos are great reminders of our family now and the new child that we are so excited to welcome. Some of these will definitely be going up on our walls soon, but I can't help but share our favorites!!!

Wedding Bells

Last Saturday Jon's cousin Kyle got married. The bride and groom had asked me months ago to take pictures of the girls getting ready because they weren't hiring a photographer (Jon's Dad and Sister took pictures of the ceremony and reception). I was super nervous about the gig, because as I pointed out to them several times I'm not a photographer and haven't even ever taken a class or read a book. They still wanted my help so I spent the day with the ladies getting ready and tried to capture some of the special moments leading up to the ceremony. Below are some of my favorite shots.

It was a lovely day and so much fun getting Jon's whole family together. I left a little early to relieve my parents who were watching Reed, but by all accounts the party continued for quite a while and was a great celebration. I really wanted to stay longer, but after everything that had happened earlier in the week I also really wanted to be home with my baby boy. Before I took off Jon and I managed to get a few pictures together to prove that we still clean up fairly well.

The Mother of the Groom was Harold's sister Lynette and somehow I managed to get a rare picture of the two of them hugging. Aren't they adorable?

Insta-Reed

Jon makes fun of me whenever I use Instagram, but honestly it is fun to quickly edit, crop, and/or apply a filter to a picture you just took on your iPhone. When you have a kid on the move all of the time it is hard to get just the right angle or lighting, but you can take a pic you would normally delete and change it into a keepsake in under a minute. We were pretty low key this week so I thought I would share a few of my iPhone/Instagram snapshots of The Reedster.

Photo Shoot

We didn't have any formal newborn pictures of Reed taken, but the Sunday after we brought him home from the hospital we decided to try to take a few of our own to document him in his early days. Obviously we aren't photographers (even very good amateur ones), but we think some of the snapshots turned out pretty well. Enjoy!
