October 2018 Happenings

My Birthday was at the beginning of the month and while my Birthday was pretty unexciting, I was spoiled the following week with two different nights out with girlfriends.

Shell-Ten has continued to make himself comfortable as part of the family. We try to take him outside on the weekends and it is amazing to watch him take off across the lawn and explore in the flower beds.

We made it to the last Fresno Foxes game and Reed even worked up the courage to talk to Fuego the mascot. We loved the soccer games and will for sure be going back next season.

For Ryland's Sixth Birthday Charlyse planned a bowling party. Even the adults got to bowl, it was a super fun afternoon. Reed was so proud that he was the first kid to bowl a strike and Jon managed to bowl his best game ever (201)!

The Kingsburg schools along with Valley Children's Hospital participated in an awesome project called "Kingsburg Reads One Book." The book selected was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All kids in the local schools were given a copy of the book, a suggested reading timeline, got to hear guest readers, and were invited to participate in a scavenger hunt around the downtown area. The boys loved reading the book and had a blast doing the scavenger hunt. It was a really neat event and we loved being part of it.

Clint and family came to town and the boys and I had a great night hanging out, playing baseball, and enjoying Clint's cooking and Dale's hospitality. The night ended with Mick holding Kieran's head and speaking mumble jumble mixed with life advice about an inch from K's face. We were all dying laughing, it was hilarious!

Clint had come to town for our 20th high school reunion. It was great catching up with old friends and the night went by way too fast. Amanda, Lee, and I somehow managed to color coordinate which seemed too perfect!

I have no real pictures from Tio's Birthday so this one will have to do. We had a barbecue when his brother Hank and sister in-law Daisy were in town. The boys were so excited for Tio's Birthday they made him an entire book as a gift.

Just a few more random pictures from the month - Kieran continues to be my work sidekick when needed and is so good about keeping quiet and busy when I need to get work done. We had the Siegels and Parkinsons over for dinner and the kids absolutely loved playing together. I think we have a lot of playdates in our future! Reed lost his other front tooth so we keep joking that he really is getting two front teeth for Christmas. Besides accompanying me to work on my day at home, Kier also loves checking on HMC fruit when we are out grocery shopping and of course having fun lunch dates with Mom!!!!

Halloween 2018

Halloween morning I made the boys let me take pictures since I wasn't sure what the condition of their costumes would be at the end of the day. Kieran chose to be a pirate and Reed, The Flash. The boys can't have weapons or masks at school but I promised they could wear them for trick or treating later. I couldn't get away from the office but C was sweet and sent me pictures from K and Lyla's preschool party, which Kier said was the best. Not wanting to be left out, Jon and I got in on the Halloween action too and dressed up with some of our coworkers.

On our way to music class we stopped by C's house for some trick or treating and then after class we hit up Nonna and Pepe's, Grandma and Grandpa's, and Mark and Penny's. The boys bags were overflowing with treats, crafts, and other fun goodies. They had such a fun night!

Halloween is Super Pun!!!

C and Tio chose a "pun" theme for this year's Halloween party and it was a blast. We had a lot of fun trying to guess what everyone was. I didn't get pictures of everyone but did my best to capture some of the great costumes. They also had a balloon artist/bubble-ologist who the kids thought was amazing. His bubble show ended with each kid being put inside their own bubble.
