We decided to head up to Grandma and Grandpa's cabin to celebrate Kieran's third Birthday this year. Nonna, Pepe, C, Tio, Lyla, and Zach were able to join us for a beautiful day in the mountains. We had a great time doing a scavenger hunt, enjoying some "camp" food (including trail mix that K picked out all the ingredients for), watching Kieran open his gifts, and spending time together. Grandpa has been cutting down trees on the property and was happy to help out with the decorations by cutting one into slices to use for the party. He also sliced off the edge of two of the lumbered trees and burned the boys' names into the logs as a surprise that the boys loved! The kids received camping themed books, a flashlight, and a set of stones I had painted so they can make up stories about the mountains at home. I also happened to have a bunch of camping plates, bowls, and mugs that I had forgotten that I had bought for C and Tio's engagement party so it was awesome being able to use those again. Grandma and Grandpa have worked so hard on their cabin and it was so fun letting everyone enjoy their beautiful property and of course celebrating the Birthday Boy!!!

Kieran's Actual Birthday
We had plans to celebrate Kieran's Birthday at my parent's cabin over the weekend so Kieran's actual Birthday there wasn't much going on. Since we still wanted to do a few special things I made pancakes for breakfast and we let Kieran open his gifts from us, which he thought was pretty cool. He and Reed played with his new things all morning while I made food for the weekend. Despite Kieran coming down with a fever mid-day we still met Grandma and Grandpa for pizza that night and then the Bug and I continued up the hill and spent the night at the cabin. Unfortunately K got car sick on the windy road but he recovered quickly after he got to open a special Birthday present from Grandma and got a little extra attention from Mom and Grandpa too. It was kind of fun having one on one time with him on his Birthday and I could tell that he was pretty excited for the rest of the weekend too.

Trick or Treating a Day Early
Since Halloween fell on a Monday this year, the previous week had been super busy, and Reed was supposed to have soccer practice that evening, we decided to trick-or-treat on Sunday night instead. Since we just take the boys in the car to a couple family homes we have this luxury which is awesome! Everyone was onboard with our plan and we were able to make four stops this year - C and Tio's, Uncle Mark and Aunt Penny's, Grandma and Grandpa's, and Nonna and Pepe's. Both boys absolutely loved going around to everyone's houses this year and were really excited to get to wear their Super Mario Bros. costumes again.
