The 4th being in the middle of the week worked out pretty well for us this year, it was pretty mellow. Mom and Dad both worked in the morning and then got to spend time with Reed and friends in the afternoon. Russell and Laurie hosted a party that we went to for a few hours, but we skipped out before Reed's bedtime. Next year I think we'll let the little guy stay up late to take in some fireworks. For now he got to spend the afternoon being doted on by all of his "Aunties and Uncles" because we are the only ones that have a child at this point. We keep telling him to enjoy it while it lasts!!!
We've been spending more time in the pool the last two weeks, but this Mama was getting tired of holding him the whole time so we bought him this awesome pool toy that made its debut on Wednesday and he loves it.
In honor of the patriotic holiday Reed got a taste of his first hamburger and enjoyed one of his favorites, watermelon. I think he likes squeezing the juice out more than actually eating it (can you see it dripping off of his arm?).
