The Big Fresno Fair 2017
Stars aligned and Jon and I had an afternoon that we could both be away from the office and Reed had an early release from school so we headed to the fair with the boys. We hit up the kiddy rides, a not so kiddy ride, the horse races (the boys were obsessed), visited Megan who was showing Peter Porker for her high school FFA program, a log rolling demonstration, the agriculture displays, and of course some carnival games. The boys had a blast and so did Jon and I. We have big plans of spending an afternoon at the horse races with the boys next year and can't wait to do it all again!

Pumpkin Patch 2017
Last weekend we hit up the pumpkin patch. I failed to put the memory card in my nice camera so all of the cute pictures I had the boys pose for when we arrived don't exist but luckily they were good sports and were willing to pose for a few more iPhone pics after we bribed them with a train ride and kettle corn!

Sarah's Birthday 2017
The morning of my Birthday Jon and the boys surprised me with a homemade Birthday cake. It was such a sweet gesture - Jon had made it from scratch (so it was Reed friendly) while I was out with friends celebrating the night before. The boys loved singing, helping me blow out the candles, and having cake for part of their breakfast too!
That night we met my parents and G-Momma at Eureka burger for a Birthday dinner. We almost didn't get any pictures but Jon managed to snap a few in the almost dark parking lot.
On Sunday Pepe made a special Birthday dinner for me, brownies, and we made s'mores around the outdoor fireplace. It was a great evening (and also very, very sticky).

September 2017 Happenings
September is always an incredibly crazy month for us. There are so many Birthdays, the boys are just getting started with new teachers, we begin after school activities like music and soccer, homework and class projects start, Jon is still busy at work, and shorter days mean less flexibility for me to do things like walk the dog, work in the garden, and go running. In summary it is a month full of change and adjustments with quite a bit of fun thrown in too!!!
In a complete contrast to when Reed started school and he knew none of the kids (and I knew none of the parents) we know over a third of Kieran's preschool class fairly well. It's so fun comparing notes on classroom happenings with our friends and watching our kids become friends all on their own.
Reed's school has an annual event called Goodies with Grandparents. Reed was so excited about the event he asked me not to go and just let Grandma and Grandpa take him by themselves. I think the three of them had a great time. Unfortunately Nonna and Pepe were out of town on vacation and unable to attend.
Carver and Maisie have September Birthdays just a day apart and their families are very close so they collaborated for a "Craisie" combo party. The theme was Superheroes (Carver) and Sesame Street (Maisie). Carver's Uncle Cameron made an appearance as a somewhat creepy clown and his daughter Brin got in on the action too. The boys didn't know what to make of the clown, a few of the kids loved him, and a few were in tears. It was fun to hang out with our Clovis friends and watch all of the kids play and interact.
Reed and Kieran are both taking music class this year. Reed's class is a lot more intense than prior years with lots of keyboard work, homework, and at home practice 5 days a week. They are each in a class with four girls and both are way more fidgety and difficult to get to focus than the ladies. All of the kids in Reed's class perform solos each week and it's so fun to see his skills and confidence grow each session.
We absolutely love having G-Momma so close and have been able to see her quite a bit since her move. In between all of the other September activities we did manage to meet up for a park play date. The boys had a great time exploring the park and all of its features and G-Momma and I actually got a chance to catch up which was also so great.
To end the month we celebrated Eden's fourth Birthday with a Peppa Pig Bash. There were two bounce houses, a muddy puddle for jumping in, and a special appearance by Mason, I mean Peppa (don't look too closely you might see her very hairy wrists peaking out of the costume). The kids all had a blast and there were many tears when it was time to go home.
