After our boat ride, Reed took a nap, and the four of us ate lunch and caught up for a few hours. Once the Little Man woke up it was time to pack up and hit the road again. Having a well rested toddler and a five hour drive ahead of you is a recipe for disaster, luckily my friend Sarah lives right on our way home and her two year old daughter Alyson is always up for a play date. We were able to spend about an hour and a half with Sarah and Dan chatting and enjoying their back yard while the Rugrats wore each other out. Before we left we tried to get a picture of us girls holding the other one's child, but the kids weren't too sure about that and we didn't get the great group shot I had hoped for.
Once we got back in the car Reed was a bit cranky for the next hour and half - the solution was me signing "The Wheels on the Bus" over and over again at his request ("More Bus") until we found a place to stop for dinner. Once we were all fed, Reed slept the rest of the way home. All in all it was a great weekend and we couldn't have asked Reed for better behavior.
