Kieran's Glow in the Dark Soccer Birthday Party
Kieran had such a great time at Reed's Birthday party that as soon as it was over he declared he wanted a Hotwheels themed Birthday party himself. Kieran has only ever had immediate family for his Birthday parties so we agreed that his fourth Birthday would be a great reason to invite some friends. I suggested he pick a different theme since Reed had just done Hotwheels and he suggested he have a dinosaur, superhero, soccer, lego, train party. I then suggested he pick one theme and this went on an on for weeks. During that time we were at a couple other get-togethers that lasted until after dark and the kids loved playing with flashlights and glowsticks. I asked Kieran what he thought of a glow in the dark party and he loved the idea and said "yes a soccer, glow in the dark party!" At that point I gave up and agreed. Kieran also requested pizza for his party, lots of snacks, and a bounce house. All week it looked like it was going to rain during the party. When Saturday came around the weather cleared a bit and we decided to setup outside. As soon as I began putting tables up it started sprinkling so I quickly moved everything under the patio cover and decided it was what it was. The Grandparents and Great-Grandparents came over an hour early so K could open some gifts and spend some time with family before the chaos of twenty kids ensued. The kids had a great time playing soccer, jumping in the bounce house, and running around with the light up wands and glow in the dark balls that were their favors. Kieran had so much fun and after a light sprinkle scared everyone away we came inside with the Ketelsens and Suemotos and played some more. Kieran loved being the center of attention and said it really was his best Birthday ever!
