What can I say about Kieran? He is my wild child who has no fear and wants to do everything his older brother does and more!!! He is Mr. Independent until he needs Mom and then he is the clingiest kid you've ever met. I always say that I think people believe I'm making up stories about him because when we are out he is usually super shy and even if he interacts with other kids he is usually so easy going and sweet. We've started going to a music class once a week and he basically insists I hold him for the entire time but as soon as we get home he wants to pound on the drums and xylophone at our house. A couple times a month I take him to a Mommy-and-Me yoga class and it's the same story even though at home he loves singing the Namaste song and doing moves we learn in class.
K is still working on potty training but is wearing underwear at home except for nap and bedtime and has even worn them to run some errands and when we are at Grandma and Nonna's houses. He is starting to string quite a few words together at a time, which means some pretty funny things are starting to come out of his mouth, so it is definitely time to start sharing!!!
A few months ago the poor guy had a bout of diarrhea and the first time it happened he sat on the toilet and said "poop...water?"
Kieran likes to put his bib on himself and one day kept pointing to it and telling me "my bra!"
We were reading a book about bugs and when we came to the page on ladybugs K declared "girl-bug!"
Reed and Kieran were playing with hula-hoops and Reed got his between his legs and over his shoulder. The Bug was super concerned and kept telling me "it's sthuck (stuck) on his bootie."
Kieran went through a phase of stripping off his clothes and one day got himself completely nude and then started grabbing his penis and was very upset, yelling "take it off!!!"
We have a toy tractor that has a few little sayings and one is "we work until the work is done." After the tractor said this K followed up with "yat's (that's) my kind of kid."
Kieran has started to take on some big words lately and it's really fun to see him use them in the proper context. For some reason we had two different types of soaps in the bathroom and he went to each one squeezed a little bit in his hand, rubbed his hands together, and explained to me in a really drawn out way "com-bi-na-tion."
I was asking The Bug what he wanted for food at his Birthday party. He simply told me "garage cheese." When I questioned what he meant by garage cheese he explained "Kieran cheese, not Reed cheese" - we keep the dairy cheese in the refrigerator in the garage and some Reed friendly coconut cheese in the house refrigerator.
At Thanksgiving Chris was walking around patting Maisie on the butt/back trying to get her to go to sleep. Kieran leaned over to me and said "he's petting her."
At dinner one night K was messing around with his bowl of soup and making a huge mess. Jon looked at him pretty sternly and asked "Kieran is that a toy?" Instantly K replied "Daddy, that's a bowl."
