Last minute trip to the Zoo

On Wednesday I realized we had no plans for the next day and that the forecast was for no rain, a quick text to Grandma and she was in for a trip to the zoo. The last time she was at the zoo the new African Adventure area wasn't yet open so the boys were so excited to show her around. It was a pretty cold gloomy day and there was hardly anyone there. We were able to spend as long as we wanted at the exhibits and even got to see the cheetahs, which weren't out on our previous two trips, and the new male lion. Unfortunately because of the cold some of the animals weren't out, but it was still a great day!!!

One of the highlights of the day was happening on the whole flock of flamingos flipping out about some birds in a tree. They sounded like a DJ spinning records and their necks were stretched long up towards the sky. We also witnessed the lion toss around a bowling ball like it was nothing and found the seals'/sea lions' favorite spot to swim by the observatory window. It was really a fun day and Grandma was like a kid herself seeing the new exhibit and all of the animals.
