2016 Mid-Season Soccer Recap

I know I posted about Reed's first soccer game but it's been five weeks since then so I thought I should do an update. Reed absolutely loves soccer! He hasn't complained about going to practice once, gets so excited for his games, and seems to genuinely like all of his teammates and his coaches. He has a hard time paying attention during practice but there are certain drills like "red light, green light" and "kick the soccer ball at the coaches" that he really gets into. Other than those games, he walks more often than he runs and is completely fine cruising around at the back of the pack. A couple of the Moms have told me their kids were the same way last year when they played and have only really gotten into the game this year (their second year) so we'll see if that is the case for Reed. Even though he may not be the MVP of his team this year he sure has a lot of fans! Nonna, Pepe, Grandma, Grandpa, C, Tio, Lyla, and Zach have made it to quite a few of his games, which is so sweet of them. Kieran and Lyla are definitely his biggest fans, constantly cheering "Go Reed, Go Snakes, Go Reed!" Besides the regulars, Grammy Marty was at his first game and Gran and Papa were at his game last weekend. On top of the familiar faces in the crowd, a lot of the kids from Reed's class play soccer and he's gotten to play against their teams which he has loved. The kid is really loving his first team sport, is learning the rules of the game well, and his coaches continue to be so patient and encouraging, it has definitely been a great experience!!!
