Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!

Even though we had done the joint Birthday party the weekend before we got to spend Grandpa's actual Birthday with him too. We had talked about going up to the cabin but sadly the huge Rough Fire had burned within a half mile of their property and they were under a mandatory evacuation order. Luckily the firefighters were able to hold the line behind the cabin and it sustained no damage but it wasn't contained in that area for another four days. This meant we had a swim party and dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate. It was a wonderful afternoon/evening and I know the kids provided a nice relief from the fire concern even if us adults couldn't talk about much else. The boys and I made a cake and we stayed past bedtime because we were enjoying ourselves so much. I'm so glad we were able to give Grandpa a Birthday evening he enjoyed because he is such a special guy and really does deserve to be celebrated!!!
